Description: Up for sale, a circa 1965 Teisco K-3L in perfect working order. Lovingly referred to as the “shark fin” series, this K-series model features an angular body with deep German carve, a trio of single coil pickups, and a vibrato unit. Featuring square pole pieces, these pickups have a bold, barking tone with impressive girth and a percussive, woody quality. The independent On/Off switches and dedicated Volume knobs enable a bevy of pickup combinations. The spacing of the bridge/middle pickups enables an almost humbucker-like response, and the Rhythm/Solo (bass cut) switch further broadens the tonal palette. Featherweight at 6lbs 14oz, this Teisco has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation. Neck Specs: -Wood: Maple -Shape: Slender C, full shoulders, measuring .825” 1st fret, .925” 12th fret -Fretboard: Rosewood slab, 9 1/2“ radius -Frets: Original, slender, leveled and crowned, just shy of “fretless wonder” territory -Scale Length: 24 3/4” -Nut: 1.650” (42mm), zero fret -Tuners: Original open-gear Body Specs: -Pickups: Single coil x3 -Controls: Volume x3, Tone, Rhythm/Solo switch, Pickup on/off x3 -Hardware: Vibrato, bridge with threaded saddles, aluminum pickguard -Plastics: Original quartet of knobs, multi-colored switches Cosmetic wear on the gloss two-tone Red Sunburst finish includes some finish chipping on the body perimeter, and one repaired split on the treble-side lower bout edge in particular. There is limited buckle worming on the back, and a handful of additional minor marks on the body as a whole. The smooth ambered gloss on the neck profile is flawless save for a couple shallow nicks that are nigh imperceptible to the palm. A gigbag is included.
