He was also a two-time All-Big Eight selection and a consensus All-American in 1958.- He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the second round of the 1959 NFL Draft and played for them until 1962. He was a key contributor to the Steelers' offense and defense, as well as a dangerous return specialist.
