Description: 1963 Burnt Honey Amber Bischoff Kingstown Glass Decanter Green Hue by Wayne Husted, as pictured. Designed by the great Wayne Husted while employed by Blenko but moonlighting for Bischoff. Made in 1963 for the 1964 catalog, Bischoff's final year of production before being taken over by Indiana Glass. This is one of the more desirable of Wayne's designs in this line. Measures 7" wide and 16" tall. The color really blooms in these pieces as your angle of view changes! These rare amber to green pieces are an easily identified one year mystery that they never figured out, as the amber was supposed to fade to clear, as you see with the Husted designs used in the later Indiana Glass Greenwich Flint Craft burnt honey amber pieces. These green examples were unsold Bischoff pieces Indiana Glass later incorporated into their GFC line. The decanter shows green more strongly than the stopper. The stopper may have been produced by Indiana Glass after 1963 using Wayne's molds for GFC. That said, this is the correct stopper and sometimes the green is just barely there in these pieces. See photos. Decide for yourself. No cracks, chips, or repairs. Anything that may appear chipped in the photos is not chipped. All rough edges are smooth as finished during their production. Exhibits typical "flaws" associated with handblown glass production: bubbles, tool marks, etc. There appears to be some minor cloudiness or water residue that i have not attempted to remove. See photos. Ships same or next day at no cost to you. Thanks for looking.
