Description: Note: shipping to Continental USA, lower 48 states ONLY. This is an early 1965 Gibson SG special with 1964 specs meaning: WIDE NUT -1 11/16" -1964 Neck Feel Small Pickguard BRAZILIAN ROSEWOOD FRETBOARD. The only 1965 spec is the Chrome hardware. I have owned this guitar for over 25 years and it's mostly sat in the case. It came to me exactly as is. The body finish. pickups, wiring harness, bridge, tailpiece and knobs are original. The tremelo arm might be newer. Solder joints look untouched. No one ever changed the electronics in this guitar. The body shows numerous dings and wear.. people pay thousands of dollars for relicing to look like this does naturally from someone actually playing the guitar! The headstock has two repaired issues. Again : 25 years of ownership- This thing is solid. I've gigged it many times. The guitar was clearly "Grovered" at some point, The wing was split off when whoever did it, enlarged the tuner holes to accommodate the wider Grover tuning peg. The pictures show the repaired split along the right side of the headstock. Additionally, there is a very small repaired "smile crack" that was expertly finished over so it's very hard to see. The back of the neck was refinished/oversprayed. Black light shows this. Again the neck and headstock are solid. Era-correct Kluson strip tuners with conversion bushings are on the guitar. The Brazilian rosewood fretboard is in good shape overall. Frets are low but playable. I can't tell if they're original but I can play the guitar just fine. Neck is straight and strong, no issues. No heel joint cracks. No control cavity cracks. Comes in aftermarket rectangle case shown.
