Description: Infamous for the numerous incidents occurring at their home rink including patrons setting fires due to the lack of heating, lengthy game delays for missing pucks and even fights between opposing players and exiting fans due to the proximity of the visitors dressing room to the entrance, the Long Island Ducks competed in the EHL from 1959 to 1973. While not especially successful on the ice, the franchise can boast player/head-coach John Brophy, the individual believed to have been portrayed by Paul Newman in Slap Shot. The group of 5 postcards includes one original hand signed by Ken Leibel. The cards are in decent shape overall. The cards measure 5 1/2” h x 3 1/4” wide approximately.
