It is in good shape and is not damaged. What you see is what you will get. The interchange of this part is a pretty big list. The vac advance is still working and the distributor is not damaged. I do not know the history of this HEI and I do not know if it works. It comes with the cap and coil as seen in the pic. It is being sold as-is. This distributor will turn your old points system in to an electronic system of the 70's vintage years. It will fit every Chevrolet V8 from 1956-1980 and will fit well up into the late 90's for a changeover fit. The factory years are 1973-1980. It fits, 265,283,305,327,350,400.
