Manchester United would be relegated at the end of the season and were second bottom losing 2-1 at West Ham (Bonds, Holland, McIlroy). Denis Law & Rodney Marsh scored for Manchester City and Kevin Hector notched a hat trick for Derby in a 5-1 win against Burnley.In Division Two Tony Brown scored all 4 for West Brom in their 4-1 win at Nottingham Forest. Leaders Middlesbrough drew 1-1 at Aston Villa (Craggs for Boro & Rioch for Villa)In Division Three Howell scored a hatr trick for Brighton (4-0 winners at Charlton). In Scotland a Celtic XI lost 6-2 at raith Rovers as their League game had been postponed
