These made in Japan builds are a veritable collectors choice when it comes to the Fender/Squier legacy and display a level of build quality and attention to detail we don't often see in current entry level pieces. This piece is a remarkably well made instrument that's closely modeled after an late '50s Strat, replete with appointments like a well grained, one piece maple neck & board, lightweight alder countored body, and classic hardware. The electronics are all original including tye vintage style black bobbin pickups. (see pics) The tonality is pure Strat, with plenty spank and quack, and a warm, woody tone in the neck and middle position. The guitar sets up to a tee and plugged in she belies her "student model" designation and delivers pro level playability and performance with a charming and real deal essence about her. Apart from the pickuard swap there are no signs of mods or alterations, and this sweetheart has led a charmed life with moderate natural playwear, nothing nasty, and no issues. Here's a chance to get up close and personal with a truly great guitar that will make you wonder why more pros don't just go for a Squier, Jeff Healey, the great Strato-Master loved these guitars and in his hands their performance was undeniable and truly stratospheric. It has been deep cleaned and detailed. All guitars will arrive looking and playing great. The frets have been leveled / dressed / polished and the fingerboard was cleaned. (Unfinished Rosewood and Ebony boards get treated with Fret Doctor - a proprietary all natural oil that is the best on the market) It was professionally set up and has brand new strings, the action was adjusted, the intonation is spot on and it plays excellent.
