Description: 1984 Topps Gallery of Immortals is a twelve-card, all-metal, rendition of star cards from the 1984 Topps set. This was the debut of the Gallery of Immortals concept which would be renamed "Gallery of Champions" the following year, and be issued each year until 1991.Each set came in a red velvet-lined leather case with a serial-numbered certificate of authenticity. The twelve players were selected by a panel that included Willie Mays, Joe Garagiola, and Dick Young of the New York Daily News. All twelve cards were cast in solid bronze and measured 1 1/4" X 1 3/4".
