1994 RARE Prototype MLB Chicago White Sox Ceramic Cookie Jar & Shaker Set MINT

Description: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Prototype MLB Cookie Jar & Shaker Set1994 ~ Made for Certified International in NYCChicago White Sox Franchise~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Jar measures approx 8" across at widest point x 12.5" tall w/lid x 6" deep 5" x 3.75" jar opening ~ Original sticker remains on bottom of jar Shakers measure 4.5" tall x 2.75" at widest point x 2" deep These jars and shakers were made as prototypes for Certified International of NYC. They were to be made and released for sale in a licensing deal between Certified International and MLB in 1994. The jars and shaker sets were to be made for every team. I was advised only 2-3 prototypes were made for each team.Every prototype, both jars and shakers, made for every team, used #5 as the uniform number. There was no direct connection to any players on any team. Then the MLB strike happened in August of 1994. The licensing deal was cancelled and the jars were never made. The shaker sets were eventually made from the same prototypes, and sold by Hunter, starting in 1998. The shakers by Hunter are marked Hunter on the bottoms. The authentic prototypes have no maker markings on them at all. One party in NYC acquired all of the prototypes. I was made aware of them by famous cookie jar guru and collector, Keith Lytle, at a collectibles show in Oregon in the late 90s. Keith procured this set for me from the NYC party who had had acquired all the prototypes. I purchased this set directly from Keith Lytle of Cookie Jar Antiques in the late 90s.
