Description: On offer, we have a hand carved soapstone sculpture of an Eskimo and a seal. This is a modernist Eskimo seal hunter bowing down to a proud seal. It is signed on the bottom "Gus E Semigak", "Nain" and "Oct 21 '95". Nain, Labrador is known for its talented artist community. This has the official "Canada Eskimo Art Esquimau" sticker. It measures approximately 10 1/2" long X 3 1/4" wide and 4" tall. It weighs 4 pounds 1.5 ounces. This is in excellent condition. I can find no flaws. As I am not an expert, please see my photographs for more description. This belongs to my friend who is moving to a much smaller home and parting with many of her treasures. She found this in her family storage and does not know its history. I will be happy to answer any questions and, of course, combine your shipping when possible.
