Description: Good Wood era - Original Owner - purchased from Ronn David / Vintage World (such a great shop!) back in Dec. 1998; she’s been gigged and very well cared for, the only mods are Schaller Strap Locks (if you’re not using them you should) and I swapped out the original Bustbuckers (long gone) for a set of DiMarzio 36th Anniversary p/ups - much better sounding and they clean up much better, to my ears. She’s in 9.9 / 10 condition, there’s very slight worming on the back - I would put gaffers tape around my belt buckle - from my jeans and it’s very hard to photograph, hardly noticeable….not bad at all for a guitar that’s been played for the past 25yrs! Reason I’m selling - I’ve got an ongoing Trigger Finger issue (4 surgeries on 4 different fingers) and the early onset of arthritis and the fat neck on these ‘58s it’s getting difficult to deal with. The neck has a great shape, nice round shoulders, it’s just getting harder to deal with. Which really sucks. Add to that my short, fat, sausage fingers and I think you get the gist. Which is why I’m selling my 2002 ‘58 Historic as well and my R6 Goldtop. Anyway - original hang tag (no COA, Gibson didn’t have them until a few years later, my 2002 has the old paper COA) and all the case candy. She’s a great guitar - one of the best Historics that I’ve ever owned - plays great, sounds great, stays in tune all night (even with my wide vibrato) and weighs a nice 9.4lbs which is normal, all the best bursts weigh in the high 8s - low 9s, she’s very lively and resonant. NO RETURNS - this isn’t Guitar Center - your bid is a contract. Check my feedback, and bid with confidence. She will be properly packed & insured - this isn’t my first rodeo - and shipping is FREE.
