19th C. Salesman Sample or Child's 12.25" Miniature 5-Drawer Inlaid Chest

Description: Welcome to Antiques & Moore! This listing is for a lovely 19th Century Salesman Sample or child's 5-drawer chest made decorated with colorful decorative inlaid banding on top. The chest has two small drawers at top above three wide drawers with the bottom drawer having a locking mechanism (no key). Each of the drawers also has contrasting inlaid banding with light wood stringing and a dark wood inlaid square where key hole would be on two center drawers and behind key hole on bottom drawer. The inlaid banding on the top features a design of stylized arrows end to end with the small inlaid pieces of the design having soft color staining in a very attractive pattern. The chest is well constructed with decorative turned wood pulls and sits on short round turned wood feet. The chest is made of solid walnut with the drawers having wide panel cut sides, dovetailed drawer backs and chamfered bottoms. Measures 12 1/4" high, 10 3/4" wide and 7 5/8" deep. Weighs 7.3 pounds. This nice chest is in very good to excellent Estate condition with the only noted flaw being an old no-harm stress crack on the top otherwise the chest reflects only minor wear from normal handling commensurate with age.
