Description: 19th Century Russian Safronov Hand Painted Floral Cobalt Gold Tea Cup & Saucer D Nice antique 19th century Russian porcelain tea cup and saucer. Decorated with hand painted purple, orange, and yellow flowers with green and gold leaves over a cobalt background. Gold gilding along the edge, to the interior of the cup, and to the molding along the bottom of the cup and around the center/well of the saucer. Hand painted overglaze blue mark on the bottom. Probably a Safronov blank decorated by Piotr Kozlov. Circa 1820 to 1856. Has some wear to the gilding. The cup has an in manufacture stacking flaw to the lip of the cup. The saucer has an area that has been chipped and the chipped pieces are glued back in. Otherwise good condition. The tea cup measures approximately 4 1/8 inches wide including the handle x 2 inches tall. The saucer measures approximately 5 3/4 inches wide. This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not affect the display of the piece. LX
