Description: Here is a wonderful copy of Flaubert’s Parrot by Julian Barnes. This is a first American edition first printing as shown on the copyright page published by Knopf in 1985. This copy is quite lovely. The binding is square and tight and clean throughout . There are a total of five pages at the end of the book that has spotting as shown in the last few photos. The rest of the pages are spotless. The white boards are very clean with some discoloration around the edges front and back. There is a “bump” to the two top right corners as shown in the photos provided. The green cloth spine and gold gilt lettering is bright and beautiful as are the author’s initials on the front board. Two of the four corners have light “bumping” as well. The dust jacket is complete and has the original price present on the front flap. The jacket has light wear in the form of light soiling to the rear panel All told this is a very presentable copy of one of Barnes’s best loved novels and only third published work.
