Description: Pair of vintage Monroe Salt Works (MSW) black crow lug-handle chowder soup bowls hand-made in Monroe, Maine, USA. These salt-glazed, stoneware pottery bowls are sturdy and a beautiful example of American folk art. They have a design of a black crow on the bottom of the bowl and blue rims. Each bowl has two lug handles. The bowls measure about 6 3/8" diameter at the top (not including handles) and 2 1/2" tall. They'll hold a sizable portion of chowder or soup. These bowls are in good pre-owned condition. There is likely light wear on some of the edges; they aren't perfectly smooth. There are some little bumps and divots on the bottom of the inside; that's likely how they were made. One bowl has a tiny, shallow surface crack or split no longer than half an inch toward the bottom under the handle area (see last photo, which is very zoomed in). It shouldn't affect the functionality at all. These will be packed with care and shipped promptly.
