Description: Waterford Crystal started producing the finest quality hand cut crystal in Ireland in 1783. Rising production costs forced the company to move production overseas in 2009 but vintage pieces like these amazing Colleen Claret glasses can still be found. The Colleen Short Stem pattern was one of Waterford’s most popular all during its manufacture from 1968 to 2018. These elegant, hand-cut claret wine glasses measure 4 3/4 inches tall by 2 5/8 inches wide. Both are in excellent used condition with no chips or cracks. One has the Waterford ‘Old English’ script logo acid etched on the base (see photo) but the other one’s logo is so faded I couldn’t get a picture of it. The style of the Waterford logo dates these glasses to before 1986 when they were still being cut by hand in Ireland.
