Description: Replacement O-Rings for Snorkels and standard Touchdown-fillers Snorkel-fillers have three rubber parts that eventually need replacement (two seals and the ink sac); Touchdown-fillers have two (one seal and the sac). The part that inevitably fails first is the barrel O-ring, without which the plunger cannot generate enough air pressure to completely collapse (and thus, completely fill) the sac. Our O-rings are brand new, and will fit all Sheaffer Snorkels and most Touchdowns, including Imperials (PFMs and fat, first-year Touchdowns, including Tuckaways, take a larger size, that we also sell). Though they look like ordinary rubber, they are made of ethylene propylene -- a synthetic compound nearly impervious to ozone, which is the prime cause of the hardening seen in old Sheaffer O-rings. These seals should last at least twice as long as their regular rubber equivalents (just be sure to keep them away from petroleum-based oils and greases), and possibly much longer yet. To install, unscrew the section to gain access to the inside of the barrel. With a long, slender screwdriver, remove the screw that attaches the filler knob to the plunger. Push the plunger out of the barrel; the old O-ring will be visible in its recess near the end of the barrel. Carefully pry out the old O-ring and put in the new, then reassemble, lubricating the plunger with a thin film of pure silicone grease. Payment We are glad to combine shipping charges on multiple purchases, but it is vital that the proper checkout method be used. When buying more than one item, use the Add to Cart button -- NOT the Buy It Now button. View your cart when you are ready to complete the purchase, and if the total shipping charge is incorrect, do NOT pay. Instead, click the Request Total link at the top right and we will send you a corrected invoice. Terms of Sale We strongly believe in full and explicit description of any condition problems or flaws, and in very conservative grading. We stand behind our descriptions -- buy with confidence.
