Both Archie and Peyton played in the NFL. Eli played college football at Ole Miss like his father Archie from 1999-2003. He would redshirt his freshman year in 1999 and be a backup with little action in 2000. He became the starter in 2001 and would lead the Rebels to a 7-4 record with 2,948 passing yards with 31 touchdowns and 9 interceptions. In 2002, he would pass for 3,401 passing yards and 21 touchdowns with 15 interceptions. He would lead the Rebels to a #21 ranking, a 6-6 record and Independence Bowl win over Nebraska. In his senior year of 2003, Eli would lead the Rebels to a 10-3 record and an SBC Cotton Bowl Classic win over Oklahoma State. He compiled 3,600 yards with 29 passing touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He would win the 2003 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award for being the nation’s top quarterback and the Maxwell Award for being the nation’s top player. He finished third in the Heisman balloting behind Jason White and Larry Fitzgerald. He has several other awards and nominations from his college career. He was selected by the Chargers with the 1st overall pick in the 2004 NFL Draft but would trade him to the Giants for Philip Rivers and three picks. Eli would spend his entire career with the Giants. He would win two Super Bowls with the Giants in 2007 and 2011, both over the Tom Brady led New England Patriots. He won the Super Bowl MVP awards for both Super Bowls. He would not miss a game due to injury starting 210 consecutive games from 2004-2017. He would retire after the 2019 season with multiple team records. His stats are as follows: 57,023 regular season passing yards with 366 passing touchdowns and 244 interceptions. 2,815 post-season passing yards with 18 passing touchdowns and 9 interceptions. He was inducted to the Giants Ring of Honor on September 26, 2021, the team retired his jersey number 10 as well on this day. He is projected to be a first ballot Hall of Famer when he becomes eligible in 2025.
