The ‘CMA Country Christmas’ special brought out tons of the industry’s most talented acts to get us in the holiday spirit. From classic tunes re-imagined to soulful renditions of newer songs, The 2013 CMA Country Christmas special definitely got us super excited for the holidays! Our favorite country stars Luke Bryan, Kellie Pickler, and Hunter Hayes took on country classics and the show was hosted by a stunning Jennifer Nettles. CMA Country Christmas Special: Best Show Moments. Jennifer always does a great job hosting, so it was no surprise that once again she nailed it! She shared that the best gift she ever received was her absolutely gorgeous baby boy, Magnus Hamilton — she gave birth to him right before Christmas last year on Dec. 6, 2012. Another awesome moment by Jennifer was her last performance — with the Peanuts! However, some performances definitely stood out to us. While Mary J. Blige isn’t exactly a country artist, she sang such a beautiful and strong rendition of “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” — we couldn’t get enough! She then came out later in the night to join Jennifer for a duet of “Do You Hear What I Hear.” No one could have pulled it off like these two did! Hunter Hayes couldn’t be there for the big night but he didn’t let that stop him. He and his band performed their favorite country song, ”Let It Snow,” right from their moving tour bus! Hunter, 22, rocked a full denim outfit (Justin/Britney circa 2001 style) and looked — we must say — absolutely adorable. Of course, a favorite of all HollywoodLifers was Lucy Hale. She definitely was the best dressed of the night in that gorgeous red Haute Hippie dress, tassels and all. However, we were really blown away by her performance of “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home),” showing that she’s much more than a Pretty Little Liar. Then there was Sheryl Crow who looked better than ever — yes, she’s really 51 — during her sweet performance of “The Christmas Song.” Plus, Willie Robertson changed in his camouflage for a tux to take the stage to sing ”Hairy Christmas” with Luke Bryan. Luke Bryan & Lady Antebellum Put On Emotional Performances I’ve got to say one of the best moments of the night was when Luke Bryan made a special fan’s wish come through the Make-A-Wish program. The adorable little girl, Tatum’s wish was to meet Luke and see him in concert — so he brought her backstage a concert in his hometown, let her ask him anything and they sang his hit songs together! Then Macy’s let her pick out any outfit to wear to the Christmas special. She then introduced him before he took the stage to sing “Run Run Rudolph.” Naturally, he looked better than ever. After his performance, he ran out into the crowd to hug Tatum and kiss her on the cheek and the forehead. Just when our eyes dried, Lady Antebellum took the stage to sing “I’ll be Home for Christmas” to honor the troops – and back came the waterworks. During their heartfelt rendition, a collage of photos flashed across the screen showing men, women and children reuniting with their loved ones who had served in the military. It was so precious.
