She is the first to explore the unknown lands to which she has brought her faithful people. This year’s issue, however, introduces another innovation – the obverse also changes the image of our heroine, who, traversing the unknown land, eventually plunges her imperial sword Reichsschwert into the ground. Her faithful companion, the double-headed eagle, warns of the danger lurking nearby. The reverse of Germania 2023 is the traditional image of the Germania Mint coat of arms, with a two-headed eagle holding lightning bolts and surrounded by olive branches. The eagle is derived from Germanic mythology, associated with Janus – the god of all beginnings, guardian of gates and bridges, and patron of alliances. The eagle’s heads, facing in opposite directions, symbolize the past and the future.PRESENTATIONEach coin is provided in an individual protective capsule. Each coin comes accompanied with a certificate of authenticity, these certificates DO NOT have individual serial numbers.
