Description: Penn Antique Restoration 32"x80" Antique Heartpine Swinging Door w/2 Panels Elegant, antique, swinging door salvaged from an old home in Northeastern PA. The door is has a solid Douglas fir core covered in a 1/8" thick heartpine veneer and has 2 recessed (flat) panels on both sides. The door is stained on both sides. Please note that heartpine is the non-living, core of a pine tree, and not the soft, outer, living sap-wood. Since it takes 30 years for a pine tree just to develop just 1” of heart stock it is rarer, harder, more durable, more insect & rot resistant, less susceptible to warping and twisting, and is much more valuable than the cheap, pine lumber that is commonly found at most hardware stores. Hardware: The door comes equipped with its original pivot hinge. If you would like to add push-plates to the door, or other hardware, we have a good selection of period hardware to outfit it (check out our store). * If you don't plan on using the door as a swinging door and would like the cut-out for the pivot hinge in the bottom corner plugged with solid wood, message us for a quote. Condition: The door is strong, sturdy, and in great structural condition. It only has nicks and scratches, but no broken or cracked joints, gouges, rot, warp, or any other serious issues. The door has a small break in the veneer (see last photo). Otherwise, most of the blemishes that it has will disappear after sanding, prior to refinishing or repainting, and whatever remains will be subtle, "character marks". Modification: We could also modify this door to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could trim or add to the height or width, replace wooden panels with glass, plug the hardware holes, etc. Email us with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote.
