Description: This listing is for a striking 14 karat white gold pendant featuring a pear shape natural citrine and 5 round full brilliant cut natural mélange diamonds, plus a 14 karat white gold chain. The citrine measures 13.5 - 8.7 x 5.8 mm with an actual weight of 3.68 carats. It has good, eye clean clarity with some minor "paperwear"; insignificant surface nicks from being in a parcel paper with other gems. We'll say it is of fair overall cut, only because of a portion of the girdle (side edge) of the gem which is extremely thick and unpolished on one side (see side view photo); not due to the brilliance of the gem which is fine. Most all citrine is heat treated to improve color, and we can assume that this gem was treated in this traditionally accepted manner, but this is a wonderful, natural gemstone! Citrine is a birthstone for November, but this piece is a joy to own and wear regardless of your birth month! The diamonds are well matched with an actual combined weight of 0.19 carat. These diamonds have an average color graded at K/L ("top silver") with average clarity graded at I-1 and are of good overall cut. They make the pendant livelier and really help bring out the color of the showcased citrine. The citrine and diamonds all 100% natural and genuine, and the diamonds are untreated and unenhanced as well. The pendant mounting was made by the well-respected New York manufacturer Overnight Mountings. Professional renderings (and current suggested retail pricing) of the pendant mounting can be seen at overnightmountings dot com by searching the style number of 30107. The pendant hangs on a nice Italian made 14K white gold cable link chain that was purchased from Quality Gold of Cincinnati. The chain can be worn at either 17 or 18 inches in length and is held with a quality lobster claw clasp. The pendant itself measures 23 x 10 mm and weighs 2.6 grams. The chain can easily be changed, and the bail will accept up to about a 2 mm diameter chain without alteration. The chain weighs 1.9 grams for a total weight of the piece of approximately 4.5 grams. The pendant mounting and chain are both solid 14 karat white gold and unworn; don't be duped into buying a gold-plated piece or someone else's worn-out castoff!
