I also fine tune or knap the edges for a better spark before shipping. Get them while I still have them. I check the edges for spark, and if I don't get good results I try to knap (chip) the edge so it works better for me. As a result of checking the edges you will have better results with the flint. If you see the sparks are small for you just flip the rock upside down and that usually makes a big difference. If you dull the edges, you'll eventually need to chip off small areas of the rock to make them sharp again. Flint and steel sets work best with sharp flint. This is another quality Vern's Flint and Steel product.
