Description: For sale is my 4.5" Wilton C1 swivel base bench vise. It’s a dandy. > I bought the vise 8 years ago. At that time, I disassembled, cleaned, degreased, lightly polished exposed metal surfaced on a buffer with black polishing compound, primed and painted, and reassembled with high pressure grease. Last month I refurbished it again in preparation for selling. The vise is in excellent condition. Here are the details: > The dynamic jaw moves smooth, free, and easy. > The jaws are in very good condition with minimal signs of wear. > The snap-in pipe jaws are in superb condition with crisp edges. > I replaced the original jaw fasteners and keeper fasteners with stainless cap screws. > The vise turns smoothly on its swivel base and the lockdowns engage easily and firmly. I have added stainless flat washers under the lockdowns to protect the paint job. > The anvil platform is flat with minor dings > All exposed metal surfaces have had a lanolin based rust preventative applied. For the curious, I am selling my vise because I just inherited two bullet vises from my wife’s uncle. I don’t need three bullet vises…maybe lol.
