Giant Mealworms are shipped live and packed loose in a cloth bag with newspaper or an egg flat. When the worms arrive, place the worms in a plastic container and place in the refrigerator. They will go into hibernation and last longer for your animals. Once you are ready, take out the amount of worms for feeding and keep them at room temperature and feed to your animal. If you find any black worms (dead), remove them from the container of worms. These worms will keep in the refrigerator for 30-90 days.
