Description: Smaller Staffordshire Figure- approx. 6 1/2" h x 4 1/2" at widest Seated female figure holding a musical instrument- lute?With standing very posed male figure:His right arm stretched around her back to her right shoulder ,His left arm folded at elbow onto his belt and his legs crossed Hand painted with lots of color - mostly cobalt, with orange, black, brown, some green with gold highlightsHand painted facial features Gold decoration around bottom base at frontPainted some around back of figure White and black confetti decoration (fur?) surrounds the male figure's pinkish color cape Unmarked- maker unknownDate unknown but would think mid to late 19th centuryHas sticker on bottom- Harding Vol.1 , page 404( assume this is the set of books on Staffordshire pottery by A & N Harding) but can not verify Overall condition is very good- color intact and strongNo visible cracks, chips or damage Few minor underglaze brown stain marks on white and pinkish back of his tunic Some visible crazing but would say minor and certainly not overall as is often the case
