Description: 6 PC Antique 1890s CLOTH & PAPER SEWING EPHEMERA from MACON, MISSISSIPPI AREA circa 1899 This is a really neat collection of cloth and paper sewing related pieces I purchased many years ago from a Macon, Mississippi plantation estate. Included in the 6 piece lot:2 pieces of ivory colored fabric. Wedding related?2 pieces of paper that appear to have been used as patterns. One pattern includes an ad for Butterick Shears dated 1882.1 pattern piece has been cut from a waxed paper wrapping (?) with a partial drawing of an elephant wearing boots wearing a sign with "MACON" on it.1 receipt for a Mrs. Cochran's October 31, 1899 purchase of Butterick patterns at Patty Dry Goods Company in Macon, Mississippi.All pieces are in excellent pre-owned condition.
