It can be shipped framed at extra expense. In fine condition.Abraham Rattner (1893-1978) was a painter, mosaicist, and stained glass artist from Paris, France and New York, N.Y. Studied art and architecture at George Washington University, the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, D.C., and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia. He was a member of the Minotaure group, along with Picasso, Miro, Giacometti, Le Corbusier, Braque, Dali, and Reverdy. Rattner was a figurative expressionist who, through his use of color and movement, expressed reactions to the major world events of the 20th century. He had met and studied the paintings of Claude Monet but his work is generally closer to that of Georges Rouault and Pablo Picasso. After his first wife's death he married Esther Gentle (1900-92), a printmaker, sculptor, painter, and business person, who ran an art reproductions business and a New York City art gallery. The original painting of "Window Cleaner" was bequeathed to the Smithsonian on Rattner's death. #10669This is our 31st year in business.
