Description: This Adanac wristwatch was issued to the US military. Made by Gallet and Co a Canadian based company. Adanac is Canada backward; I wish I knew the story behind that. Was it a tongue in cheek joke? Canada on a US military issued watch? The story lost in time, I guess. This is the more clean dial issued in 1986. There was another watch made by the same company issued in 1988 that had a more clutter dial, but this is the cleaner and better (in my opinion) The plastic crystal is clear from any scratches. I'm not sure if it is original. I can only presume it is. If it did get a scratch, it is easy to polish out with toothpaste or a light polish. The dial has a lovely patina and has "Adanac" underneath the 12 marker. It is numbered 1-12 on every hour underneath each marker it is numbered with the 24-hour equivalent number. Under the 6 marker "Swiss made" The watch originally glowed in the dark, but now it is a very weak glow. The watch has a swiss quartz movement. It runs great, not bad, for a watch that is getting on in age. It was military issued, so it has had a tough life. The case has some scratches and small dents on the back. Spring bars 20 mm comes with the green strap, which I think suits the watch. It is missing the bezel insert. It is from my personal collection I am down sizing my watch collection (watch collecting can be addictive- just in case you didnt realize) please feel free to ask me any questions I will try to get back to you as quickly as I can.
