In addition to providing much greater performance, Ultra160 SCSI increases the maximum allowable cable length from 3 meters to 12 meters for improved connectivity and flexibility. The Adaptec SCSI Card 29160N combines this Ultra160 SCSI technology with Adaptec’s SpeedFlex™ technology. SpeedFlex allows the Adaptec SCSI Card 29160N to be backwards compatible with previous generations of SCSI products, while allowing newer Ultra160 SCSI devices to operate at the higher 160 MBytes/sec rate and increased cable length.
