Description: The_Authentic_Arrowhead_Store ADENAALABAMA This ADENA came from Alabama and is obviously authentic. It shows nice use and great patination. It is made from a nice local chert. It has great edge work and no modern damage. Adena points are Woodland in age, ranging from 1,500 to 3,000 years old.The last three pictures are of the board this point came off of. We did this to preserve collectors information, so you can see what all was on this specific board. Notice in the third picture there are clean areas underneath the spot where the arrowhead was tied to the board with black string. This shows the length of time these points were on this board. Points from this collection were put on these boards between the 1930s and 1940s. The second picture shows the old label from the original collector. This point and the frame it came from will be pictured on our website, (The Authentic Arrowhead Store), to preserve the history of the collection. This also creates accurate provenance of the artifact you purchased. You are not buying the group of arrowheads on the board only the arrowhead pictured on its own! COLLECTION HISTORY I bought these points from the finders family. They were all collected in the 1940s or before. They were catalogued in 1957 by the original collectors family. Then they were put in storage until this year. At this point, the family contacted me to arrange the sale of the group. This group had some great pieces, including artifacts from seven different states and a few Canadian pieces. The entire collection will be pictured in our Web Museum (The Authentic Arrowhead Store) Collection section. These will be pictured here for the foreseeable future in order to preserve the history of the collection. Size 2.61 inches in length.
