Description: Wonderful Mid Century MCM expressionist portrait of a Black American man. Great period look. My guess is mid to late 1960s into the early 1970s. Stern look on his face. Great subtle color palette. Could fit into the world of social realism or expressionism. Slight naive look to the painting but clearly some talent there. Was found not far from a well known art school. It's possible it was a student work. Found in southern New England. Oil paint on canvas board. Sadly no signature found. Nice evocative portrait. Earth tones. Measures 24x18 Condition is nice overall but there is a slight scratch/scuff as seen in photos. Was painted upside down which is how I showed the reverse. Will ship UPS Ground insured.
