Description: Hardwood carving depicting the African continent and the Big Five game animals, Leopard, Elephant, Lion, Cape Buffalo and Rhino. My parents brought back from one of their South African trips roughly 20 years ago and it has hung on the wall since. It is hardwood, the grain on the back makes me think Sapele Mahogany but that maybe incorrect. Also I feel this could be hand carved as I see some tool marks. Light matte finish. Rough size 20 1/2" tall, 18" wide and 3/4" thick. I think they just had it hung with a nail. From a smoke free home in a very dry but dusty climate you'll find some dust on it I'm sure.Please refer to images.
