Description: This Aiwa mini stereo system features a 3-CD changer, 2 tape decks, AM/FM Radio Tuner, Karaoke, Dolby Pro Logic surround sound, and Auxiliary Input. The CD player and tape decks are not in working condition. The CD player will attempt to eject the drawer, but something is holding it back. It will come out if you pull on it a bit. The CD tray itself does not spin at all. After the tray ejects, it keeps trying to eject further (i.e. the motor keeps running). In order to avoid burning the motor out, I have disconnected the ribbon cable that powers and/or controls the CD player. So it just doesn't do anything at all. This would be easy enough to re-insert if you want to attempt repair. The door for tape deck 1 will not stay closed. There is a small plastic pin on the drawer that broke off. I attempted to improvise a repair there, but was unsuccessful. An additional door is included, but it is also missing this little pin. Neither of the decks will actually play a tape. I think door 1 is somehow out of alignment, as I can't even close the door with a tape in there. Deck 2 will accept a tape, but it doesn't appear to spin when I press play. Also, deck 1 will make about 8 clicking sounds when the unit turns on (probably the auto-reverse mechanism?). The silver pegs at the bottom on either side are attempting to spin, but they're stuck. In deck 2 they spin freely. Karaoke function has not been tested, as I don't have a microphone. But the button does work, and it seems to mostly filter the vocals out. The speakers are not the original ones for this unit, but from a different Aiwa system. They are rated at 40 watts each, and work fine. The radio tuner and auxiliary input work as expected. So you could plug in anything with RCA output jacks and use this to output the sound. The surround logic appears to work as expected, in that I can turn it on and the output starts to sound different. But I don't have the surround speakers, so can't test that it actually produces output. It did the last time I checked, but that was 20 years ago. The remote is tested and works as expected. It does not have a door to the battery chamber, and there is a piece of velcro attached to the back. I am including two loop-style antennas. I think the shorter one is the original AM-Loop for this system. The other one is not the original FM antenna, but works well enough anyway. You might get better reception with a different antenna. There is a crack in the plastic under the CD tray, and a white mark across that side of the unit. (Not sure what that is.) No manual is included, but you can find one online by searching the model number. SOLD AS-IS.
