In GREAT condition with paste down images still in tact on the vintage pictorial hard covers and the original Alice's adventure box in gray with front paste down illustration by John Tenniel, colorized by Fritz Kredel. This is a first edition thus, 1st printing from 1946 by Random House, complete with RARE to find box in tact with very minor wear (but damaged at top seam it has come unglued. Beautiful condition books are very clean with tight spines and impeccable red and blue spines with bright gilt lettering. Blue tipped leaves at top are classic mark of publishers true first print. Impeccably clean endpapers and full color illustrations accompany the classic black line drawings, many with color throughout. No shelf wear present with the protection of its box throughout time, only the slightest bumping to spine tips which look quite new. Pages are crisp and flip beautifully. No marked, loose, missing, torn, or creased leaves. There is a hand-written note, adding some unique history, tucked into the book in regards to it's previous owner's family lineage of enjoying these books. My heart pit pats over this rare collection! I actually want it for myself.
