Description: American Persimmon Diospyros Virginiana25 Seeds The American Persimmon grows naturally in the South-East quarter of the United States. This Florida Native is a beautiful tree that provides lots of shade and turn a dark red in autumn. We have read that Indians would grow their Seminole Pumpkins up these trees. We will try that next year! If you are looking for large, juicy fruit - you will probably be disappointed. Seeds make up the majority of the fruit, with little bits of pulp in-between. There is no shaking an older Persimmon Tree! They are stout! We collect the fruit once it drops to the ground. Sometimes we find persimmons, sometimes we find piles of seeds. The native wildlife love to snack on the little fruits. These seeds are from fruit harvested from our farms. 2024 is a great year for Persimmon's in the Florida Panhandle. We have collected more persimmons than ever before!! They say the Persimmon seeds can predict the approaching Winter weather. You split the seeds in half and either have a Knife, Spoon or Fork. In Fall of 2024 we had 5 Knives (Winds Cut) & 3 Spoons (Shovel Snow / Eat Soup). We will see! American Persimmon grows great in zones 5-9. These seeds were harvested August 2024 Seed Starting Plant only when temps reach 70+ deg F Soak in warm water overnight Plant seeds 1/4" deep and keep moist Seedlings will emerge in 6-8 weeks Shipping Seed orders under $10 ship with the USPS Non-Machine Stamp.
