Description: Offered for sale is an Ancestral Pueblo / Cibola-Tusayan / Lino Gray, Fugitive Red Variety, bowl: 600 - 950 AD. (see https://ceramics.nmarchaeology.org/typology/type?p=3) As described in publications, the red slip of this type of ware was imperfectly applied, causing the color to fade to a pinkish hue (Peckham,"From This Earth" p.49). Additionally, the interior of this bowl was either imperfectly smudged or even painted after firing since a spot of it came off with the removal of what appears to have been a round sticker (see photos). The bowl, however, is without damage. It is 6 1/2 inches in diameter and 2 3/4 inches high. Shipping is by USPS Priority insured, and there is no handling charge. I invite you to view other items I have listed. Thanks for looking, and enjoy the hunt.
