Ancient Persian Seljuk Bronze Bottle

Description: This bronze Seljuk bottle is circa 10th century A.D. and comes from a NYC collection where it was acquired in the 1960s. It is cast bronze with heavy design throughout the body. The piece is a little under 7.5" tall. During its useful life, this piece might have been used as a dispenser for rose water or other aromatics given the vessel's shape. The Seljuk empire was a medieval Turkish empire found in Anatolia (sometimes called Asia Minor). They ruled parts of the Middle East and Central Asia during the 11th to 14th centuries. Comparable piece have sold at auction in for $600-$1530. Please note that we do not import or export ancient items.
