Wyeth. N.C. taught his son painting when he entered his 20s. Andrew Wyeth had his first exhibition in 1936. But his big break came in 1937 in New York City at the Macbeth Gallery, when every one of his paintings sold. Wyeth lived between Pennsylvania and Maine, and this is where he found his subjects. The people were mostly his family and neighbors, and the landscapes were the homes of family and friends.
