Description: Antique 1830 Map~The World with chart Exhibiting The Progress of ChristianityOffered is an antique map, dated Oct.,13, 1830, published by D.F. Robinson & Co, of the State of Connecticut. Measures: 11 3/4" x 9 1/8". Appears printed on some sort of vellum or parchment paper and looks to have been removed from a book. The top two images show the world from the Southern Hemisphere and Northern Hemisphere with the poles being the central point. Below is a chart which "exhibits the progress of Christianity from the birth of our Saviour to the present time." The time is marked in the left column from 100 to 1800, the top column lists the countries as they were in 1830, and the charts shows the prevalence Christianity by the white color along with the letters P, C, and G (Protestant, Catholic, and Greek) in the columns associated with the listed countries. The two darker shades of grey, indicate (lighter shade) Mahometanism (darker) Paganism. Blotch stain on the front left margin, see photo. Edgewear as pictured. The back is blank and fairly clean.
