In mid 19 century that town had become an art colony to a striving group of international artists such as Robert Vonnoh, John Singer Sargent, Francis Brooks Chadwick Edward Simmons, Will Hicox Low and many others. Many of them featured that same bridge in their paintings. Perhaps it belongs to the brush of one of them. Canvas 18”x15” Frame 20 1/5” X 17 1/5” Signed Grez, France lower left.
