Description: Antique PRIMITIVE BENTWOOD DRY MEASURE with great patina! This antique bentwood 1/2 bushel dry goods measure is made of oak with an overlapped tapered joint. The joint is secured with iron nails and the two piece bottom board is pegged to the sides. A metal band reinforces the upper edge and two cast iron handles are attached for lifting. The unbranded measure has no finish and the wood has darkened with age. It is 14 1/2” in diameter x 8" tall. This is an old farm implement and it has some soiling chips and splits commensurate with age and hard use. See photos for details.
