Description: Antique ornately carved walnut barometer c. 1915. Finely carved rectangular walnut frame. With elements of German Black Forest and French Second Empire style, 17 ¾ inches high, 11 ½ inches wide at the top, and 2 inches to 2 ½ inches (at the top) deep. The barometer is 5 inches in diameter, and has its original beveled glass. It appears to be in working condition. The mechanism looks complete and free of corrosion. The barometer is an aneroid barometer, which means it has no mercury, so it’s safe (and legal) to ship and display. There is a label on the back, dated 1914, identifying a student named “Percy” who is also identified as a bank clerk. I don’t know the origin or purpose of this label. In overall excellent condition with one small chip at the bottom left corner. (See photo.) Fully guaranteed. May be returned for a full refund if not satisfactory.
