Antique Brass Carriage Clock Desk Mantle Small French c. 1840s NO KEY

Description: Antique brass carriage clock. I assume made in France, but it does not have any markings. There is an impression of the hour hand on the face, not sure what caused it, and the face appears to have a small scratch or maybe a tiny crack. We were able to wind it and make it tick, but it could still need servicing and we do not know anything about clocks so we cannot test it further. It stands about 4 1/4" tall, plus the handle.
