Description: Armor Bronze Dante and Beatrice Book Ends. A fantastic pair of Armor Bronze book ends of Dante and Beatrice, elctroformed using the company's well known process of electrostatically applying a bronze patina to various objects. The surface is wonderfully textured, giving it an antique aura and feel, even when new in c. 1925. One still retains its original maker tag. Armor Bronze offered a range of book ends originally selling between 5 - 15 or so dollars for a set in the early 1920s. For an additional 2-3 dollars they could be ordered enameled. The company we know as Armor Bronze started as The National Metalizing Company. While some folks seem to think that the company was in business as far back as 1880, our research leads us to believe 1910 is closer to the actual founding date.
