Description: Presented is a marvelous, French silver dessert or pie server made during the late 1800s or very early 1900s. This turn of the 20th century piece is made of solid French 1st standard .950 purity silver, which is actually higher than .925 sterling silver purity. The piece is heavy for its size. The handle is done in a classical reeded edge design and has a bow at the tip above an ornate, mirrored monogram. The pointed blade is hand engraved with a reeded edge to match the handle. The piece has a maker’s mark but it has been double struck, most likely by the original retailer, and so we cannot read it clearly. The base is marked with the French 1st standard Minerva head silver mark for .950 purity and a maker’s mark. This piece is fabulous overall condition. There are no dents, no breaks, no splits, no monogram removals and no repairs. The server measures 9 3/4 inches long and weighs 111 grams or 3.9 ounces. Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
