Description: For sale is this vibrant mid-19th century Chinese export ladies fan. I would estimate it was made some time around 1850 to 1890. This fan is one of four similar I am selling this week. It is beautifully painted with figures in a landscape and flowers on the reverse of the fan. It measures about 29 centimeters long. Unfolded it is about 50 centimeters wide. It weighs a total of 50 grams. The fan is in overall fair condition with strong colours. Some splits and breaks to the paper. Some wear marks on raised areas of the paper. A separated panel. Some wear to the gilding on the red lacquer. Minor wear throughout. This lovely fan will probably need a professional paper restoration to bring it back to its former glory.
