Description: ANTIQUE CARL THIEME PORCELAIN GROUPING YOUNG COUPLE WINTER SEASON AFTER MEISSEN This listing is for a charming and vibrantly colored porcelain figural grouping by the famed porzellanfabrik, Carl Thieme of Dresden and Potschappel. It depicts two figures--one a young boy, the other a young girl--in warm winter dress. The boy sits on top of a sledge and carries an axe, while the girl warms her hands at a brazier on a tree stump. Both figures are supported on an integral base decorated with lustrous gilt detailing. This hand-painted, polychrome figure is an allegory of winter from the series "Seasons," and the original model (number G94) to this form was created by Johann Carl Schönheit of the Meissen Manufactory in the 1780's. On the underside, it is marked with the Thieme Dresden mark, which denotes production c. 1902-1918. This remarkable piece is of similar quality and craftsmanship as the original Meissen predecessor of the 18th Century. Measures 4 3/4" high with the base measuring 4" long and 3 1/4" wide. Weighs 10 ounces. This antique piece is in good condition EXCEPT the girl is missing her forearm. I am asking for 15% of the value of the piece. Here is a comp showing it sells for 300 and above:
