Antique China Head Doll By Kister/Lovely Turquoise Eyes/Early Plaid Dress/Body

Description: Offering a very pretty 20" China head doll made by A. W. Fr. Kister of Germany. A similar doll is featured in color on page 89 of the book, " A Pictorial Reference Guide To German Chinas" by Mary Krombholz. This model by Kister features a modified flat-top hairstyle with wide side waves of hair and "comb" marks similar to Greiner china heads. She appears to be of pressed porcelain rather than poured. Her facial features are nicely modelled so that her features are distinct. A special feature of this doll is her bright blue eyes which appear turquoise in color and really stand out. Her head and shoulder plate are perfect with no damage or repairs. The porcelain is very pure. She has a molded breast plate and retains her original cloth body with kid leather arms and individually-stitched fingers that have some expected wear & repair. Her costume is so appealing, with a matched antique(probably original) set of pantalettes and petticoat, chemise, stockings and antique black leather shoes that tie. She wears a crocheted shawl over her early, antique tan, brown, cream, red and green plaid dress with wide ruffled hem. She also has a tie-on bustle made for her that can be seen in my photos.
